A1 Level: Beginner

The A1 level is the starting point for learning German. At this level, learners focus on building a basic understanding of the language, including simple vocabulary and grammar. It’s perfect for absolute beginners who have no prior knowledge of German.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Speaking: Introduce yourself and others, ask and answer basic questions about personal details (e.g., name, age, nationality, etc.).
  • Listening: Understand simple phrases and instructions when spoken slowly and clearly.
  • Reading: Read and understand short, simple texts like signs, menus, and basic advertisements.
  • Writing: Write simple sentences and fill out forms with personal information (e.g., name, address, etc.).

A2 Level: Elementary

At the A2 level, learners expand their vocabulary and grammar knowledge to handle everyday situations. This level is ideal for those who already have a basic understanding of German and want to improve their communication skills.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Speaking: Communicate in routine tasks requiring a simple exchange of information (e.g., shopping, making appointments).
  • Listening: Understand frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g., family, shopping, work).
  • Reading: Read short, simple texts like personal letters, emails, and basic stories.
  • Writing: Write short, simple notes and messages, as well as personal letters.

B1 Level: Intermediate

The B1 level is where learners start to gain independence in using German. At this stage, you can handle more complex conversations and express yourself in a variety of situations. It’s ideal for those who want to use German for work, travel, or social purposes.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Speaking: Express opinions, describe experiences, and discuss plans and goals in a clear and structured way.
  • Listening: Understand the main points of conversations on familiar topics like work, school, and leisure.
  • Reading: Read and understand texts on topics of personal or professional interest, including newspaper articles and short stories.
  • Writing: Write simple connected texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
